Arberia is a non-profit Albanian-American Association in Houston, Texas. Arberia's purpose is to embrace the Albanian culture, folklore, language, heritage, and Albanian traditions. In addition to maintaining the Albanian heritage, its goal is to serve all the Houstonian-Albanian members and all Albanian supporters by strengthening the interaction of Albanians within the Houston community.

Hands-on Activity: Explore and decorate an Albanian castle created from recycled shipping boxes! Discover the sights and sounds of traditional Albanian dance and music in our Green Mountain Energy Kid’s World Lounge. The Argentine Tango Club is committed to preserving and promoting Argentine Tango in all of its forms. Argentine Tango is a culture dance, music, and visual art form. By offering dance lessons and information about the traditions and culture of Argentina, we ensure that future generations can enjoy this world cultural treasure.

Hands-on Activity:

 Live the tango through interactive demonstrations, and coloring and drawing the tango-inspired visual art form of filete porteno designs. Explore the sounds of the bandoneon, the primary instrument of tango. Discover the sights and sounds of traditional Argentinean tango in our Green Mountain Energy Kid’s World Lounge.

Cane River Gardens (CRG) is located in the historic Fifth Ward District of Houston Texas focused primarily on discovering the economic, independent, and social potential of all individuals through an urban agriculture medium. We are committed to creating a vigorous local-based food resource that provides easy access to healthy and nutritional foods in communities with limited resources by providing apprenticeships to young adults that will inspire self-reliance and community capacity building. CRG serves as a catalyst for community engagement and economic development.


Hands-on Activity:

 Children will have fun learning the basics of starting a vegetable garden and will be provided with a simple kit to start growing seeds at home. They will also discover and measure the amount of energy created by Wind Turbines under variable conditions.

April 21st only.Delight in the rich cultural history of Panamanian arts and music. Relax in the Green Mountain Energy Kid’s World Lounge while enjoying the color and rhythm of folkloric groups, and Caribbean dance performances. Have a family photo taken with the groups in their native costumes. 


International Student Exchange

The International Student Exchange is a high school foreign exchange organization which hosts high school students from over 45 countries. Our mission is to promote world peace while "educating tomorrow's leaders" here in the U.S., as well as abroad, and also make "friends for life" in another country.  It is also to learn about the customs, traditions, languages and culture of another country.

Hands-on Activity:

Design and decorate paper doll puppets inspired by the native costumes of international exchange students. Learn more about other countries customs and cultures as you create with the students.

Hands-on Activity:

Discover the power of words through word-searchs, puzzles, and books. Participate in a poster and coloring contest and take pictures with a life-sized cut-out of Mahatma Gandhi.

Young Ambassadors for Opportunity is a dynamic group of young leaders who support Opportunity International’s mission to end global poverty for good. We inspire, educate and involve the next generation in the power of microfinance and the mission of Opportunity, an international development organization that provides over four million clients with microfinance services throughout the developing world.

Hands-on Activity:

Explore how one child can make a difference with the use of microfinance. Create a hen house piggy bank  to collect extra change to make a difference in an entrepreneur's life. View a map of the countries in which Opportunity International operates (>20) and hear the stories of how a small investment has changed lives.
