WHAT: The 2012 Houston International Festival (HIF) will partner with the World Affairs Council of Houston to provide middle school students with a tour of the Chevron Argentina Living Museum on Thursday, April 26, 2012 on site at the festival grounds. The students will have international adventures by visiting exhibit booths and traveling "Around the World in 60 minutes" through a fact-finding scavenger hunt. One of those stops will include the festival’s Chevron Argentina Living Museum. A dance and musical performance and themed snacks are also included in the tour.
WHY: Included in the festival programming is an educational curriculum which aims to inspire the children of today to become global citizens of tomorrow. As a result, HIF has partnered with the World Affairs Council to host a World Cultures Summit: Argentina and Latin America. This exciting and interactive three-hour event aims to bring to life world cultures for middle school students.
Approximately 600 students are expected to participate. The World Affairs Summit is open to the public.
