Houston, TX, October 29 - On Saturday, November 10, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Houston families will have the chance to preview the 63rd Annual Holiday Parade presented by H-E-B at the 2nd Annual Sneak Peek & Character Meet and Greet. Offering a glimpse into one of the cities greatest holiday spectaculars, the event will be held at the Parade Warehouse (3603 Clinton Drive), where over parade floats and props are stored year-round.
The Sneak Peek fundraiser event was created last year as a public float preview and kickoff event for parade season, and has since developed a character and personality of its own.
“Our goal this year, is to create an atmosphere that will bring out the kid in everyone,” said Parade Director, Susan M. Moriarty. “It will certainly be a memorable, family experience and we hope that everyone leaves with a cheerful holiday spirit.”
Returning Parade favorite, Theater Under the Stars (TUTS) will provide a live performance and guests will have the chance to get their picture taken with parade characters like Snow White, Cinderella, Peter Pan and of course, Santa Claus. In addition, Children's Author Melissa Williams will introduce her newest fictional character, "Little Miss Molly," a charming, Princess Iguana. Activities will include float decorating, holiday arts & crafts, and the warehouse will be transformed into the ultimate, magical holiday venue, including a Kids Lounge outfitted by IKEA Houston. A light breakfast will be graciously provided by H-E-B and IKEA.
“We look forward to offering guests the chance to go behind the scenes into our Parade Warehouse where the Houston holiday magic happens,” said Kim Stoilis, President/CEO of the Houston Festival Foundation, the 501-c-3 non-profit organization which produces the Parade. “Fundraisers such as these, help support our educational programs, and of course the Parade which is free to the public and attracts 400,000 people annually.”
