parade volunteers 2012

We welcome your enthusiasm, energy and commitment as a parade volunteer with the 63rd Annual Holiday Parade Presented by H-E-B. You must be at least 16 years old to volunteer. Assignments are on a first come, first serve basis. Whether you are an individual or part of a group of 10 or 500, a place is waiting for all of you at the parade. Volunteering together, your company, school group or family will benefit from this fun way to give back to the community and a well-loved tradition in Houston on Thanksgiving Day.

At this time volunteer registration is closed, and we are assigning positions. Thank you!!

Shift times begin depending on assignment:
6:00AM
Shift times end depending on assignment:
11:00 AM

RESERVED SEATING USHER
Assist people in the Reserved Seating Areas in front of the TV Zones. Distribute programs and assist with general crowd control.

TICKET TAKER
Scanning tickets in the Reserved Seating Area. Must have an iPhone or Android Phone.

BANNER OR BALLOON CARRIER
Assist carrying a banner or balloon in parade. Need to bring own gloves to wear.

HOSPITALITY HOST
This includes assignments assisting with parking, ushering, and hospitality server both at the VIP Breakfast and parade seating.

COSTUMED CHARACTER
Dress in costume and be in the parade. You will need to attend a mandatory training session prior to the parade to be fitted for your costume. Available training sessions will be announced via email from the Special Events Manager. You must be at least 18 years old to volunteer in costume.

PARADE MARSHAL
Help escort the parade; a very important and vital position. You must attend a mandatory training session prior to the parade. Available training sessions will be announced via email from the Special Events Manager. You must be at least 25 years old to be a Parade Marshal.

SET-UP
If you can’t join us but still want to be a part of the excitement of the parade volunteer to set up on November 21, 2012 from 5pm-9pm.
